As mentioned in my review for Helix: Blight of Exiles, I couldn’t wait to jump into the next novel in the series and I can only say that I’m sorry it took me so long (this is partially due to thinking I would be bringing book 2 with me to Poland but alas the trip did not happen), but the new perk of my day job means a 40-50 minute break during which I can read so expect the review section of this website to expand exponentially in the coming months.
I picked up my copy of Brave New Girls: Tales of Girls and Gadgets a few years ago at Ad Astra where I had a chance to meet a few of the authors in person and was intrigued by the mission of the anthology.
I picked up a copy of The Dragon Whisperer last year at Ad Astra and was pleasantly surprised by the story hidden away in the pages of this small book (I say this due to the novel being just a little over 200 pages).
It’s funny how sometimes an email that was originally in your junk mail folder can lead to a great book and that is exactly what happened at The Bookshelf in Newmarket last summer when I grabbed a copy of Time’s Tempest: The Chronicles of Xannia by MJ Moores after having received an invite from her for the event.
Last year at SFContario I had the opportunity to pick up Helix: Blight of Exiles while chatting with author Pat Flewwelling (the dealers room in which we found ourselves in now forever in my mind associated with the Star Wars Cantina theme).
